History of TaCMEP

Tendring and Colchester Minority Ethnic Partnership was set up on the 7th of November 2002 as a new partnership organisation for the minority ethnic communities of Tendring and Colchester.

The original organisation North East Essex Minority Ethnic Project (NEEMEP) was managed by Essex Racial Equality Council and ceased operations at the end of March 2002.

A board of Trustees made up of representatives from Colchester Primary Care Trust, Tendring and Colchester Councils, Social Services, the Police, Pupil Support Services and individuals from minority ethnic communities were involved in setting up the partnership.
