Due to low income and rising cost of living many people
may be facing a lot of financial difficulties.
Particularly those on benefits.
We can offer
you one to one interview and give you information on how to
deal with debts and manage your finances. If we see it
is necessary, we will refer you to Citizen Advice Bureau’s
Money Advisor who will provide with more expert advice
and support.
This is so that you avoid getting bad credit record or
Bankrupt which will affect your credit ratings for long
time.
At the same time we will also look into your benefits
entitlements to establish if you are missing out on any
particular benefit which may help you.
We can also offer support in opening bank accounts so
your benefit payments can be made and any direct debits
payment.
There are money available from Social funds to people on
Benefits who need support in an emergency or facing
difficult times.

This credit
union is open to all who live or work within Colchester
Borough Council area. Although based on the Greenstead
estate, there are collection points in the town centre
and on the Highwoods estate and further points are
planned.
